Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty (RSIR) today announced an open house of distinctive properties designed by noted architects will be hosted on Sunday, November 18th between 12pm and 4pm. More than a dozen homes will be on tour for prospective buyers, brokers and design aficionados and others will be viewable online or by private appointment.
“The Pacific Northwest generated many famous architects and a treasure trove of sought-after residences,” said Stacy Jones, Owner and Vice President of RSIR. “This tour provides consumers a unique opportunity to experience many of the region’s most compelling properties and at an equally compelling time in the market cycle.”
Jones refers to the broadly noted rebound in the local housing market with rising demand, dwindling supply and record low interest rates. “Housing affordability and consumer confidence is at their highest levels in years so it’s timely to offer these gems onto the market,” she added. “These unique homes are hardly a commodity anyway – I’d expect to see greater price elasticity as the market continues to improve over time
“Location, location, location isn’t the only axiom in real estate,” says Chris Doucet, a broker with RSIR and a host of several properties on the tour. “I’ve had some buyers come to the Pacific Northwest specifically in search of a recognized architect ordemand a particular style of home. I recently sold a mid-century modern to a client who was indiscriminant in terms of location but the architecture had to be a match. We toured all over Seattle and ended up on Mercer Island. It’s a reminder that design matters – not all homes are created equal.”
